The 2022 Asian Summer School in Econometrics and Statistics concluded successfully on July 23, 2022, after six days of online lectures.

The Summer School was co-hosted by the School of Economics and Management of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Mathematics and System Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Center for Forecasting Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The Summer School was also co-organized by the Paula and Gregory Chow Institute for Studies in Economics of Xiamen University and the School of Economics of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics.
The Summer School invited several renowned experts, including Prof. Gao from Monash University, Prof. Oliver Linton from Cambridge University, Prof. Su from Tsinghua University, Prof. Amos Golan from American University, Prof. Yu from Singapore Management University, and Prof. Wang and Prof. Hong from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. They shared the latest international cutting-edge research in the field of econometrics and statistics with participants, covering non-parametric time series, fractional time series, time-varying models, econometric theory, financial econometrics, and more.
At the closing ceremony, Prof. Hong reviewed the Summer School's past few years and encouraged the participants to digest and understand the relevant research shared by the lecturers after the Summer School. He thanked the lecturers for their support, the participants for their active involvement, the organizing committee and conference team, as well as the volunteers for their hard work. Prof. Hong expressed his hope to have the opportunity to have face-to-face academic exchanges with all participants at next year's Summer School.

Prof. Qi, Member of Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, attended the closing ceremony and congratulated the success of the Summer School. He thanked the professors for their courses and praised the participants for their active involvement. He expressed his gratitude to the organizers and hoped that the students would visit Dongbei University of Finance and Economics for academic exchanges in the future.

James Philip Martin, a graduate from the National University of Singapore, spoke as a representative of the participants, expressing his honor to attend the Summer School and thanking the organizers and lecturers. James shared that the Summer School had enlightened his understanding of cutting-edge research in the field of econometrics and praised China's environment for econometric research and outstanding econometricians. He hoped to have the opportunity to conduct research in China.

Another participant representative, Zhu, a PhD student from Xiamen University, shared her feelings about learning and hoped for face-to-face communication next year. In addition to attending the course, Zhu also volunteered, responsible for the Summer School's newspapers, and expressed her gratitude to all those who worked hard to make the 2022 Asian Summer School in Econometrics and Statistics a success.
